Nkulumo

Executive Director (Nkulumo Zinyengere)

Nkulumo is in charge of the overall strategic and operational responsibility of ESA's expansion, programs, staff and execution of the mission. He is a young and vibrant individual who has a deep knowledge of the field of environment, agriculture, climate and community development. He is a holder of a B. Sc. Geography Honours and an M. Sc. Agricultural Meteorology degree from the University of Zimbabwe where he graduated as the top student with the University book prize, as a German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) scholar. He also holds an executive certificate in community development and project management. Prior to his ESA engagements, Nkulumo worked for the research group at the University of Zimbabwe's Agricultural Meteorlogy division in community focused climate change and food security projects. He has published some work on climate, agriculture and livelihoods in renouned journals such as the Agricultural and forest meteorology journal as well as presented research papers at national conferences and workshops including the FAO sponsored Agriculture Co-ordination Working Group (ACWG) and The Zimbabwe Agricultural Science, Technology and policy Conference (ZASTP). sebastian

Development Director (Sebastian N. Grey)

Sebastian spearheads development efforts towards ESA's growth. He is a co-founder of ESA and is responsible for managing ESA's development function especially regarding innovation, and project development on a part-time basis.  He is employed by Oxfam Zimbabwe as a monitoring and evaluation officer. Sebastian is a holder of a B. Sc. Honours degree in Geography as well as an M. Sc. Agricultural Meteorology degree from the University of Zimbabwe where he graduated as a German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) scholar. Sebastian has worked with local and international NGO’s looking at climate change mitigation and adaptation strategies. He has also worked as a researcher for the Agrometorology research group at the University of Zimbabwe. Sebastian has also carried out research and written papers  on sustainable agriculture and development which were presented at the Zimbabwe Agricultural Science, Technology and Policy Conference (ZASTP). zivi Program Director (Zvichanzii V. Mugota)
Zvichanzii is responsible for the day to day running of ESA. She is a versatile young proffessional who is valuable in her efforts to find ways to make ESA more productive by providing effective methods in its operations. She is a holder of a Bachelor of Laws Honours (Llbs) degree from the University of Zimbabwe where she graduated as a scholar of the Econet wireless sponsored Joshua Nkomo Scholarship for gifted students who have the potential to become leaders and community builders. During her college years she was the Secretary General of the Zimbabwe Law Students Association (ZLSA). She is the Founding President of the Joshua Nkomo Scholarship Fund Alumni Association. Zvichanzii is also a holder of CIS (Part B). In addition to her daily duties, she has keen interests in the achievement of environmental awareness and sustainable development through advocacy for policy formulation and change. Contact her on

Chief Operations Officer (Courage C. Dzvukamanja)

Courage is responsible for the implementation of ESA's programmes. He is at the fore of promoting ESA's image and agenda and cultivating existing and potential relationships with the general public and stakeholders. Courage is a holder of a B. Sc. Honours in Political Science and a Masters degree in International Relations from the University of Zimbabwe. As a founding member of ESA, Courage brings a rich history of ESA, his expertise and enthusiasm to motivate the entire ESA team and shake up the community towards progressive action for environmental sustainability and livelihoods protection. paul Chairman of the board of trustees (Paul Chimbodza)
Paul is the Chairman of the board of Trustees at ESA. He leads the team which oversees the operations of ESA's executive.  He is also resposible for ensuring that ESA's activities have a wider influencie to include national and regional policy through his interaction with the corporate world and policy makers. Paul is a holder of a B. Sc. Geology Honours and an M. Sc. Earth Science degree and is the Executive Chairman of Geo Associates (Pvt) Ltd, a junior player in the natural resources sector. He has had more than 25 years experience in mineral exploration and evaluation in Zimbabwe and the sub-Saharan region. Paul has held executive positions including General Manager Exploration-Metallon Gold, non executive Director of the Hwange Colliery Company, Executive Director-falcon Gold, current member of the Zimbabwe Mining Affairs Board, Chamber of Mines Executive Committee and sits on the boards of a number of public and private companies in Zimbabwe and abroad including Zelco Cellular company. Paul is also a Board member of the Forestry Commission of Zimbabwe whose mandate is to protect and extend Zimbabwe’s forests. His experience in the natural resources sector has exposed him to the potential damage on the environment of the extractive industry and challenged him to action. His exposure adds value to ESA's activities by helping to  target them at the point of most need thereby making them more effective. To this end, he has embarked on community projects that seek to address the issues around forest conservation, extension and arrest deforestation by actively engaging in robust tree planting initiatives. amon

Finance and Administration Manager (Amon Mbengo)

Amon handles ESA's financial activities and coordinates with field representatives to implement projects. He is a holder of a Bachelor of Accountancy Honours degree from the University of Zimbabwe. He has worked for a number of local companies handling their financial engagements, including Innscor, Zimbabwe's leading food company where he is currently engaged. Amon has a fascination with everthing environment and sustainable. When the opportunity arose to match these interests  by joining a team  of young and vibrant peoffesionals, he leapt at the change. Although he is also engaged in assisting other organisations with their financial operations, Amon is greatly dedicated to the cause of ESA, putting in extra hours to fill his duties. Outside the office, Amon enjoys taking part in community development programmes, reading, watching nature channels and spending time with friends. Contact him on
